Journalist: Why don't doctors treat this disease? After all, it is their job to save the lives of all victims.

Charlotte Lucy Grant: First of all, many patients do not go to the doctor because they do not properly assess the dangers of this disease. If they do go to the doctor, it is usually too late. Often, victims notice changes in their feet or toes. Of course, you will get a medicine that works against this disease and improves the condition. Unfortunately, most patients are not patient enough and miss their examination, which allows the fungus to spread unnoticed. Fungal diseases require regular monitoring, and few people are aware of the possible implications for internal organs. Journalist: Is the high mortality rate from fungal infections in our region due to the inexperience of doctors?

Journalist: What should people do? Can they really only expect to die? As an experienced doctor, how would you solve this problem?

Charlotte Lucy Grant: I’m not standing idly by. Unfortunately, I cannot solve this problem alone. It is a task for universities. I cannot train new doctors. Therefore, I don’t expect significant changes anytime soon. In other fields, the problems are very similar. We are all in the same situation here.
